Kia ora koutou,

Ko Tina Rewi-McRoy toku ingoa.  I am the Kaiako in the Satellite Class at Owhata Primary School.   Fiona Palmer, Dawn Hodges and Dhayna Walden are my amazing Support Staff.

In Room 15, there are six boys and one girl ranging from 5-13 years of age.  Students: Parekura Green, Azarias Cobb, Mikaia Ashby, Arihia Dixon, Rex-Takiri Moke-Evetts, Te Wiroa, Zak Lyle, All students have Individual Educational Plans that cater to their individual needs.  The Educational Plans have input from Parents/Caregivers/Whanau, Specialists and the Class Teacher.

Our specialists include Two Speech and Language Therapist – Jenna Jenkins and Alysa Duda.   A Vision and Mobility Therapist – Michelle Bunce. Music Therapist, Jono Breakwell and Kapa Haka Tutor, Aiden Taipeti.

This year we will have our School Production.

We also integrate with mainstream by attending Assemblies, shows, sports day.  We also use the Library every Wednesday morning.

Students also participate in Riding for the Disabled (RDA) throughout the year and Swimming in Term 1 & 4.  We have a Sports Day every term as well as an Annual Cross-country.

School wide Assemblies occur two times a term at Base School as well as Discos and other special events.

Community facilities are widely used such as the Public Library, the Aquatic Centre, Polynesian Pools, Redwoods, Parks, Chipmunks, and various shopping centres.
