We are a junior class of 5 boys and 1 girl. We have one new entrant student who joined us this year. One student left at end of last year to attend the Western Heights Primary Satellite Class in 2018.
In our class we use coreboard visuals to help us communicate. This is especially important to help students understand what is happening each day and for transitions, changing to a new activity.
There are 3 staff members in our class, one Teacher and two Teacher Aides. Specialists visit our class weekly, these include, Speech Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physio, Music Tutor and Maori Tutor.
We enjoy joining for the rest of the Kea Street School classes for the school picnic, cross country, sports days and assemblies throughout the year.
This term we are going horse riding each Tuesday morning. We are learning to put on a helmet and riding boots before we ride. On the horse we say "Ride on" when we want the horse to start walking.
It is great visiting the new Riding for the Disabled venue on Parawai Road, Ngongotaha. Because the Arena has a roof we can ride even on rainy days.
